DJ Bozak, a.k.a Adam Boskey played at the reception. Sound Familiar? He attended Parkland College in the visual arts before transferring to The University of Illinois to receive his BFA in Industrial Design. He can be seen playing at Boltini Lounge, Barfly and Nargile among others and has two radio shows on WEFT (90.1 FM) including the “Needle Drops” and “Noise Assembly”. He mixes a wide range of music including funk, hip hop, “old school” house, along with R&B.

Professionals in the art field selected a number of works for representing the best design entered in the exhibition. Professional Design Firm Awards include The Electric Pictures Award, The Bonadies Creative, Inc. Award, The Precision Graphics Award, and The Surface 51 Award. The Parkland’s President Award, the Fine and Applied Arts Department Chair Award, the Mass Communication Director Award, and the David M. and Shirley A. Jones Student Art Award will also be presented during the reception. Other awards include Best 3D Still, Best 3D Animation, the CSIT Chair Award, the 3D Technical Achievement Award and the Marketing Department Award. These honors are significant, as prospective employers will hire a designer based not only on his or her education, but also on talent as evidenced by awards and portfolios.
