Club Latino was organized in 1982 (first as the Hispanic Club and later as Club Hispano-Americano) to encourage Latino student involvement in the campus activities at Parkland College, to provide support and camaraderie to Parkland students of Hispanic heritage, and to serve Latino communities in District 505 and other Illinois cities in by reaching out to high school students who might not otherwise consider college.
