Graduating with College Honors
To graduate with honors a graduating student must have achieved at least a 3.50 program GPA with a minimum of 30 credit hours of 100–299 level course work applicable to the program at Parkland College

Honors Program

The Parkland College Honors Program offers unique educational opportunities and scholarships each semester to students motivated to challenge themselves academically; find an outlet for a special academic interest or talent; or simply continue their commitment to scholastic achievement.

Phi Theta Kappa

Phi Theta Kappa is the official general honor society of two-year colleges. To be eligible, a student must have completed at least 12 hours of college-level  coursework and have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5. Membership benefits include access to millions of dollars of exclusive scholarships, guidance for college transfers, online professional development programs for students in transfer and workforce pathways, leadership opportunities, networking, and travel to regional and national conferences. Our award-winning chapter also participates in campus community, and volunteer projects.

Athletic Academic All-American

In order to participate in Honors Convocation as a Parkland student-athlete the following requirements must be met: 

      • Must have participated in at least one season at the varsity level at Parkland College.
      • Minimum 3.6 cumulative grade-point average on a 4.00 scale for all college course work through the fall semester immediately proceeding the Honors Convocation ceremony (minimum 36 college-level credit hours)
