HONORS CONVOCATION PARTICIPATION AND ELIGIBILITY

Who is eligible?

Parkland graduates of Fall 2023, Spring 2024, and Summer 2024 who have received one or more of the following will be invited and are encouraged to participate in Honors Convocation. 

      • Graduation with Honors
      • Graduation from the Honors Program
      • Phi Theta Kappa
      • Psi Beta
      • SALUTE National Honor Society
      • Athletic Academic All-American
Process and deadlines

Students who are eligible to participate in Honors Convocation will receive an email invitation from the Vice President for Student Services, Dr. Mike Trame in late March/early April. Students who plan to attend the program must complete the registration form by Monday, April 22, 2024. 

Students in attendance need to arrive by 3:30 p.m. on May 9, 2024, to be seated for the ceremony. Caps and gowns should NOT be worn to Honors Convocation. Participant attire for the Honors Convocation ceremony is business casual or business professional. 

Regalia

Students honors regalia will be bestowed to eligible students during Honors Convocation. Students should proudly wear their honors regalia, cap, and gown that evening to the Parkland College Commencement ceremony. 

Guest attendance

Seating for Honors Convocation is general admission seating on a first-come-first-served basis. Tickets are not required. Seating will be on the lower level only of the Great Hall at the Krannert Center for Performing Arts. Doors will open at 3:00 p.m.
