The Assessment Center administers a wide variety of exams for Parkland students and members of the community.

New students: You must take placement tests in reading, writing, mathematics, or English as a Second Language so that we can match you with courses that are appropriate for your skill level. Accurate placement is essential for success in your college courses. Sometimes your ACT, SAT, or TOEFL scores can exempt you from placement testing in reading, writing, or English as a Second Language. New students might also might also be required to assess their non-cognitive skills as part of their orientation. New students will be able to do this in the Assessment Center after taking their placement tests.

- Board exams, and standardized tests such as the GED, CLEP exams are also given in the Assessment center.
- Online learners can request proctoring for their paper and computer-based exams.
Appointments are required for all assessments and cannot be made the day of the desired test date. A valid photo ID must also be presented to test. For more information or appointments, call 217/351-2432.
