Institute of Aviation

Aviation’s hot right now.

The jobs are in demand. The salary potential is big.

In fact, according to Aviation Week, more than 20,000 pilot jobs are expected to open within the next seven years, with many pilots nearing retirement.

But there’s more. With global growth in the aviation industry, there’s a shortage of qualified pilots in the US and internationally. And these jobs need to be filled to ensure that smaller regional airlines can continue to offer service that so many people rely on.

See what we’re getting at?

The industry needs world-class pilots. And that could be you.

Why fly at Parkland College?

Parkland’s Institute of Aviation is a restricted ATP-approved school. That’s big. It means that the FAA authorizes us to certify graduates with fewer than 1,500 hours of flight time to obtain a restricted privileges ATP certificate. That certificate lets you serve as a co-pilot until you obtain the necessary 1,500 hours. And as an aviation student, you’ll also benefit from the rigor and quality of a Part 141 FAA-approved program.

Need even more reason? Parkland College primes you for success at a fraction of the cost of a 4-year school. With small class sizes, you’re not just a number—you get one-on-one attention. Highly qualified instructors bring professional expertise and innovative teaching to the classroom.

And our proximity to the University of Illinois offers the opportunity to transfer into some of the world’s best academic programs as well as other aviation opportunities with Lewis University, Western Michigan University and University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.
