Do I have to take the Nursing Academic Skills test?
All applicants for Parkland Nursing program must take the test.
 (Note: Taking the Admissions Test does not guarantee acceptance into the nursing program.)
 
Information about the test:
Candidates must have college level reading, English, and mathematics placements before taking the Nursing Academic Skills test(Kaplan Nursing Admissions Test).
The Kaplan Nursing Admissions Test is offered most Mondays - Thursdays  in the Parkland College Assessment Center (Room U 203) during the months of August, September, January, and February.
There is a $15.00 fee for the administration of the test. A payment slip will be issued at the time of check in. Payment will me made at the cashier's office by cash, check or card. 
(Please note there will be a 2.7% service charge assessed for credit and debit card transactions)
 
Test Preparation:
Currently, the Nursing Academic skills test is the Kaplan Nursing Admissions Test, for more information please click here. 
 
Retesting Policy:
You may retest once in a 12 month period, also there is a 48 hour wait time between attempts. 
 
Scheduling to Test:
 Call 217/351-2432 or stop by the Assessment Center for more information or to make an appointment.
All test-takers are required to show a valid photo ID that includes a signature.
(Do not bring a calculator to the Assessment Center. If one is allowed, it will be available in the test.)
 
Test results will expire in 2 years.
