The state of Illinois requires that individuals pass the Constitution Exam to graduate from high school or receive a GED Certificate. This test assesses knowledge of the U.S. Constitution, Declaration of Independence, State of Illinois Constitution, and the Flag Code.
Candidates who need to take the Constitution Test to receive their GED Certification take it the same day they take the GED Tests. The test is scored by the Regional Office of Education and usually takes a week or two to get the results. Retest (if necessary) should be scheduled with the Assessment Center.
A study guide is available at Parkland College’s bookstore for a small fee. Be sure to ask for the study guide for the Constitution Test that satisfies GED certificate requirements. Visit the online Constitution Study Guide
