Information:
The College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) is a nationally recognized program that provides the opportunity to earn college credit for knowledge acquired outside of classes, such as work or independent study. There are 33 exams in 5 subject areas. Before registering for a CLEP exam make sure that your institution accepts CLEP test results for course proficiency credit.
Every institution sets their own policies, so it’s wise to check with your school before you take a CLEP test.
 
Registration and Testing:
CLEP exams are administered in a two step process. 
 
 1. Go to http://clep.collegeboard.org/register/exam to create an account and pay for your CLEP test.
      (The confirmation ticket that you receive after payment must be brought to the Assessment Center.)
2. Make an appointment with the Parkland College Assessment Center by calling 217-351-2432.
 
Please read the following before coming in for your test.
-On the day of your exam, bring your ticket with your CLEP information on it. 
-There is a $20.00 testing fee due at the time of check for your test,any exam requiring an essay, such as American Literature or College Composition, has an additional $10 fee. 
   (You can use check, cash, or a card. There is an extra service charge if you are using a card for payment.)
-Be sure to bring a current and valid Government-issued Photo ID 
      -Drivers License
      -State ID
      -Passport (signed)
      -Military ID
