SWFT APPLICATION PROCESS

Thank you for your interest in SWFT! In order to be considered, all prospective students must go through the application process. To help you stay on track while applying, please use the following guides to ensure you complete all the necessary steps. To begin, choose your program:

SWFT + Healthcare Fall 2024 Priority: June 30, 2024

Apply to SWFT

Complete the SWFT Pre-Screening Application to make sure you are eligible to receive funding.

Apply to Parkland College

To take classes at Parkland College, you must have an active application on file. Applicants may choose Degree-Seeking or Non-Degree/Certificate Seeking.

Submit Transcripts

Contact your high school and any college you have attended and have them send an official copy of your transcripts or GED scores to:

Take Placement Tests

Placement/Assessment testing is available on a walk-in basis, Mon - Fri | 8 am - 3 pm

All testers must show a physical, valid photo identification.

Applicants wanting to complete Academic programs will need to complete a Math and Reading assessment.

Complete FAFSA 2024-2025

Completing the FAFSA is free, and it gives you access to the largest source of financial aid to pay for college or career school. Parkland’s Financial Aid office is located in U286 and available for any questions or concerns at 217/351-2222 or finaid@parkland.edu. Walk-in assistance is available Mon - Fri | 8 am- 3 pm.

Complete SWFT Interview

This is an opportunity for applicants to speak with SWFT Program Manager Adam Harris about their goals and get an overview of the SWFT scholarship program. An interview does not guarantee acceptance into the program.

SWFT Orientation

All admitted students are required to attend an in-person SWFT Orientation session before starting classes. Further information about these sessions will be provided to admitted students.

Get Accepted into Health Professions Program

Each Health Professions Program has their own Application Checklist, which outlines the steps needed to be considered for your Health Professions program of interest. Start with the Health Professions How to Apply webpage.

Apply to SWFT + Healthcare

Once you have been accepted into your Health Profession program, you are now ready to complete a SWFT + Healthcare Application!

SWFT + Healthcare Interview

Once the previous steps are completed, the SWFT + Healthcare Program Manager, Kelsey Anello will review your application. If you are eligible for the scholarship, you will be contacted via email to set up an interview. An interview does not guarantee acceptance into SWFT + Healthcare.

Attend SWFT + Healthcare Orientation

All admitted students are required to attend SWFT + Healthcare Orientation session before starting classes. This can be completed either in-person or online. Further information about these sessions will be provided to admitted students.

Pass Drug Test

SWFT requires admitted CDL students to complete a drug-screening to ensure they are able to successfully pass the U.S. Department of Transportation's drug test. This step is only required for those offered a spot in the SWFT CDL program Adam can be reached at aharris@parkland.edu if you have any questions or concerns regarding drug testing.
