Industrial Maintenance Technician

The Industrial Maintenance Technician apprenticeship is widely available in many manufacturing facilities. Program length varies by employer and is typically two to four years. Apprentices work full-time in their facilities learning alongside an experienced mentor and trainer. They attend Parkland part-time taking a class or two each semester, often during paid work hours. Education costs are paid for by the employer or local training grants.

Flex-N-Gate is a privately owned Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) that supplies automotive parts to all major North American and European vehicles. Individuals must first be employed at FNG before starting an apprenticeship program. The four-year Industrial Maintenance Technician apprenticeship includes paid work time to attend classes, wage increases as skills are gained, and many locations to work upon program completion with 76 facilities worldwide. AFSI in Champaign, IL is the industry leader in high efficiency fluid filter design and manufacturing. Begin a two-year apprenticeship as an Industrial Maintenance Specialist by first contacting Kristie Montgomery. Paid work time is available for apprentices to attend hands-on classes at Parkland. Apprentices integrate their classroom learning with their on-the-job skill gains to increase knowledge retention and master skills faster.
