College President, Dr. Tom Ramage, believes Parkland is a great place to work. Here are just a few reasons why...

Parkland College is a fully accredited, public community college established to serve the needs of District 505, the third largest community college district in Illinois. Our college is a center for educational opportunity and community enrichment in east central Illinois and has earned a national reputation for its excellent academic standards, innovative programs, and quality instruction.

Built on 233 acres of landscaped grounds in Champaign, Illinois, our beautiful, quiet campus is situated near the intersection of interstate highways 57, 72, and 74 and is just a seven- to 10-minute drive from the University of Illinois campus. It takes about 2 1/2 hours to reach Parkland from downtown Chicago and Indianapolis, and St. Louis.

Our facilities include more than 150 classrooms and labs, an extensive library collection, an FM radio station, an educational TV station, an experimental agricultural land laboratory, an art gallery, championship Cobra athletics, and excellent physical education and recreation facilities, including a newly remodeled fitness center. Our cultural center contains a 320-seat performing arts theater and a 50-foot dome planetarium, the second largest in Illinois. Parkland also has a child development center to serve the needs of faculty, staff, students, and families in our community.

Our faculty and staff appreciate the safety of the Parkland campus, the access to plenty of free parking, and the convenience of our food-service operations. Parkland's Public Safety officers are state-licensed emergency medical technicians who can respond to on-campus police, medical, and safety emergencies in less than two minutes.

The opportunity to be gainfully employed without discrimination because of race, color, sex, gender, gender expression, national origin, religion, age, veteran status (including Vietnam veteran), marital status, ancestry, disability or sexual orientation are human rights in any free society.

This policy supports Parkland’s core values of multiculturalism, and fairness and just treatment. The core value of multiculturalism recognizes, promotes, utilizes, and educates regarding the unique qualities and shared humanity of all people and cultures. Research has demonstrated that all students, staff, and faculty benefit from learning and working in a diverse environment. This core value is fundamental in the college’s commitment to diversity in its search procedures and hiring practices.
