APPLY EARLY. HERE'S WHY.
Fall 2025 - Selective admissions will be used with priority given to those that apply before deadline dates and are seeking an AS in Aviation. Please complete this from prior to March 1. Students must complete the admissions process and aviation checklist before being approved for scoring. There is no guarantee that completed and scored applications will be placed. However, we will continue to review application as space allows. Apply early as space will be limited due to staff restrictions and flight times.

After Applying: Ready for Academic Advising and Registration?
If you are a degree-seeking student at Parkland and your goal is to obtain the AS in Aviation, then your Academic Success Advisor will be Myriah Benner-Coogan or Steve Wilson. You can find more information about scheduling an appointment at parkland.edu/advisingappointment. If you have any academic advising questions prior to an appointment, feel free to email Myriah at mbenner@parkland.edu or Steve at swilson@parkland.edu.
(Note: during peak registration times in December/January and August, there are not many advanced appointment options as Advising Services mainly does walk-ins at those times)
If you are a degree-seeking student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, please follow the concurrent enrollment process found on the UIUC student page. Once the concurrent enrollment process is complete, Parkland Admissions will notify Wendy Evans, Aviation Director, who will then register you for the appropriate AVI course if eligible. If you have any questions, please contact Wendy at wevans@parkland.edu.
You will be a non-degree seeking student at Parkland BUT you can still earn the AS, Aviation degree from Parkland once your AVI sequence is complete.
If you are a student that is still in high school, please work with Early College Services for your enrollment process. You can find their information on the Dual Credit website. If eligible, ECS will work with aviation for your course registration.
If you only intend to earn your Private Pilot’s License and you will only be a student at Parkland, then feel free to work with Wendy Evans, Aviation Director, for your AVI 101 and AVI 120 registration. You can reach Wendy at wevans@parkland.edu or 217/353-2171.
