COMPUTER SCIENCE

Begin Your Career in Computer Science

Computer Science students demonstrate a long term focused career vision, are organized and able to manage their time, able to balance work and life, responsible and have the ability to take the lead, persistent and tenacious in their problem solving skills, and willing to help others and be team-oriented.

To transfer into a baccalaureate degree program in Computer Science as a junior, students need to complete a minimum of 60 semester credits with Parkland. Students are strongly encouraged to complete an A.S. degree prior to transfer. Since admission is competitive, completion of the recommended courses does not guarantee admission.

GROUNDWORK

Coursework in the Computer Science A.S. program consists of Mathematics, English, general education courses and beginning programming classes.  Parkland gives you the foundation to continue your education at a four-year college or university.

ADVISING

Students should plan their transfer programs with a BCST faculty advisor and the catalog of the four-year college or university they plan to attend.
