We are excited about the opportunity to assist you on your educational path towards graduation!
TRiO is a federally funded program through the U.S. Department of Education. The TRiO Student Support Services program has been at Parkland since 1997 and is currently funded through 2020. It has served well over 3,000 students in its tenure and is funded to accept 180 participants each school year.
The TRiO program is designed to provide support and encouragement to students who plan to complete a degree at Parkland. We offer a variety of free services that participants may choose from, and each participant receives a combination of services tailored to their personal and academic needs. TRiO students are more likely to stay enrolled and graduate than their peers, and many cite their TRiO participation as a primary factor in their success in four-year schools and the workplace. The TRiO staff is committed to providing a safe and welcoming space where students can be successful. We are invested in you and will do everything in our power to help you succeed. TRiO services are available to qualified students who meet income guidelines, whose parents do not have a bachelor’s degree, and/or are registered with Parkland’s Accessibility Services office. To become a TRiO participant, you must meet certain eligibility requirements. You must also submit an application.
