Leo Blackwelder

Leo Blackwelder

I'm Leo, and I have a passion for electronic music. I was introduced to it some twelve years ago and immediately fell in love. I even took up DJing and mixing music a few years ago as a result. Join me every Friday for The Hour of Jungle from 8-10pm, where I'll play my favorite electronic music. There'll be jungle & drum'n'bass, house, dubstep, demos, unreleased tracks, and so much more. It's a little bit of everything, just the way I like it.

Tune in on Thursdays from 6-8 for the Short Fuse Show where I talk about a wide variety of topics especially all the weird, crazy, and quirky things that happen in the Champaign-Urbana area, dropping in dad jokes whenever I can.

Darrin Brown

I will update you on the world of sports every Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Currently, I am a Pathway student here at Parkland, studying Journalism at the U of I. I work with Fighting Illini Productions, working multiple athletic events.  I have lived in central Illinois my whole life, spending the entirety of my life in Gibson City, IL. After graduation, I want to be a play-by-play announcer for a major network. I absolutely love stats and analytics.

Chelsea Bury

Chelsea Bury

I've been a huge fan of music in all its forms, whether it be J-pop or Swedish folk metal. While metal and hard rock are my usual enjoyment, I am known to sometimes put on a classical score or a Disney track. Maybe one day, I'll be able to do screamo without sounding like a squeaky toy. Music is my go-to for stress relief and getting hyped up for pool tournaments. My other hobbies include billiards and gaming of many varieties, whether it is video gaming or tabletop RPGs.

Jarod Lake

Jarod Lake

I spent a lot of high school trying to find an art form I could both enjoy and make a career out of but always came back to music.  I came to Parkland still not knowing what I wanted to do but only a week into COM 141 I was sold. Being a DJ at WPCD was a perfect way to use my music knowledge as well as letting me do other things I was interested in, like film review, news reporting, and voicing my outlandish thoughts to an audience on Wednesdays from Noon – 2pm.

Caleb Nettles

Caleb Nettles

Parkland Major: Media Arts and Production. My dream is to be a color commentator for football and basketball. If you are a sports fan, then tune in to my show because most of my content revolves around sports. Catch me on Thursday’s from 12-2pm.

Vinny Rackz

Vinny Rackz

My name is Vinny or Vinny Rackz and I took this radio class because I really enjoy music. Ever since I was young, I've always had good communication skills. I'd say being involved with music is something I'm supposed to do so being able to learn about the radio stood out to me...  Chill out with me on Fridays from 5-7pm.

William Schoell

Sometime during my 31st trip around the sun I decided to leave the campaign trail for the only thing more volatile…(sports) talk radio! Radio is the greatest medium on the planet, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it (M&F 7-9am). Sports talk is my favorite, but my general idiocy leads to arbitrarily awesome anecdotes and conclusions. Luckily for all of you, Alicia Buskirk is with me to make sure I don’t mistake airpods for candy on air and keep me on the rails.

Evan Williams

Evan Williams

Well hey! My name is Evan! I'm the big nerd that you can hear every Wednesday from 3 to 5pm on Parkland College Radio. I'm all about gaming, and all the intricacies along with it. I hope to spice up my show with gaming topics along with the usual necessities that you need out of radio shows, like news and the weather.  I want to spread a positive note through my radio work! Days can get rough, and I hope that I can make two hours of your day just a little bit brighter!
