Spend three weeks abroad studying at the American School of Tangier in Tangier, Morocco.

What You'll Study
Morocco culture  (course to be determined)
Led by Joliet Junior College Professor Trillo, a native and frequent visitor of Tangier, students will study Moroccan culture and participate in a service learning project. Encouraging Moroccan and American cross-cultural interaction is an important component of the program. Students will have the opportunity to work, teach and interact with local Moroccans.
 
Activities
Visits to historical sites:
  • Medina of Tangier
  • Tangier Kasbah
  • Museum of Moroccan Arts

Additional costs include some meals, transportation to Chicago airport, and passport.
 
Scholarship Opportunity: 
Register for Arabic: ARA 101-201, to be Eligible for Scholarship to Study Abroad in Morocco

To be eligible for a Scholarship students must:
  • be a degree seeking student
  • have completed Arabic course with a C or better  
  • have a minimum GPA of 2.75
  • completed at least 12 hours of college coursework
  • have taken ENG 101 or equivalent

This Study Abroad opportunity is offered and supported by Parkland College, Joliet Jr. College, Carl Sandburg College.

Participant Eligibility
Student must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours, including ENG 101, with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.75.
