    9:00 -10:50am Mon.-Thurs.
  • ESL 080 – Listening/Speaking
    11:00am-12:50pm Mon.-Thurs.
  • ESL 071 – Reading/Vocabulary
    1:00-2:50pm Mon.-Thurs.
  • ESL 086 – ESL Pronunciation
    1:00-3:45pm Tues. & Thurs.
  • ESL 570 – TOEFL Preparation
    1:00-3:45pm Mon. & Weds.

At Parkland, we believe strongly that if we all work together as a team, students can and will improve their English language skills, increase their understanding of American academic culture, and make new friends from many different nations.

Our Pre-College ESL program has a unique design to help students improve rapidly. We offer five ability levels in grammar/writing and listening/speaking/ pronunciation.   Plus we have courses in reading and vocabulary development, and American academic culture to help build those skills required for academic success.  Students can be placed into different ability groups for each skill area so they can focus on just the learning they need for those areas.

Our program also allows for differences in how fast students apply their skills.  Hard-working students can skip levels and/or begin taking some academic classes with their Pre-College ESL courses.

Parkland’s ESL faculty is very experienced.
Our instructors have an average of 5-17 years of teaching experience and have taught, lived, and studied in places as far and wide as Korea, China, Taiwan, Tibet, France, Mexico, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Australia, Russia, the Czech Republic, Zambia, and Nigeria.
