Prospective students who wish to apply for F-1 status should submit the following documents to International Admissions. Call 217/351-2890, email us or come to room U233.

Send the original, signed application to Parkland College via mail courier. All applicants must provide a valid email address.  All F-1 students are required to be Degree-Seeking and to provide a Program Code and Major.

2.    $50 non-refundable application fee; the fee can be paid with a cashier's check or money order made payable to Parkland College.  Send this with the application, bank statement, and financial certification form to Parkland College via mail courier.

3.    Educational documents showing proof of the equivalent of U.S. high school or bachelor degree completion.
Copies of transcripts in original language with certified English translations, and copies of external exam certificates of ALL institutions attended (high school/secondary and post-secondary).
**Official transcripts from a U.S. institution must be sent to Parkland directly from the school.  Hand-carried documents will not be accepted.

4.    A recent, official bank statement or letter showing sufficient funds for at least one year of study ($24670). Photocopies of this statement are not acceptable. The account holder name on the bank statement must match the name of your sponsor as listed on the signed financial certification form, or in an original, signed, sponsor letter. The statement must also be written in English or accompanied by a certified English translation. Send the bank statement and financial certification form to Parkland College via mail courier.

5.    An official TOEFL score (optional)
The minimum TOEFL score needed to take academic course work is 500 (paper-based)/61 (internet-based).  Scores must be no more than two years old at the time of application.  If you do not have a TOEFL score, you will need to take an ESL placement test upon your arrival to Parkland.  The results of that test will determine if you are ready for academic courses, or if you will need to enroll in English as a Second Language (ESL) courses.

6.    Copies of your passport identification page

Once International Admissions at Parkland receives all required documents, we will send the admission letter and  I-20 to you via mail courier.  You will need the I-20 to apply for the F-1 visa.
