For decades, the Parkland Jazz Combo has provided a great opportunity for upcoming musicians in the Champaign-Urbana area to gain playing and improvisation experience in a small jazz group setting. The ensemble rehearses on Mondays from 3 – 5:45 pm in room C148. The repertoire often consists of jazz classics and well-known standards as well as originals and arrangements by the members themselves. The group often performs in various Champaign-Urbana venues, and is pleased to perform in the Second Stage Theatre at Parkland College.
Lead by Kevin Hart, the group meets on Monday afternoons in the fall and spring semesters, and auditions are held at the start of each semester.
The Parkland Jazz Ensemble is open to all community members with the instructor's consent.
