Adult Education 

Parkland College Adult Education provides many free classes to help you get the skills you need to start college or find a good job. Explore the links below and in the menu to find the right ones for you!

College Prep Classes for Careers (incl. IELCE): No high school diploma required; English-Language-Learners welcome. Click on a career path to learn more.

 

English as a Second Language (ESL): From beginning classes for those who speak no English to advanced English Communications for Career Pathways, all Adult Education classes are Free!

 

High School Equivalency (HSE): Classes are not required to take high school equivalency (HSE) tests (HiSet, GED ®), but we have test prep classes for those who want help getting ready.

 

Basic Skills Classes: Helps adults of all ages and educational levels improve their reading, writing, math, and basic computer and technology skills training classes (available upon request).

Short-term Training (ICAPS)Helps adults of all ages complete career training in target areas and be prepared to enter that professional arena in 18 months or less (call or email the Adult Ed. office for details).

Our Support

In Fiscal Year 2023 (FY '23), approximately 45% ($204,530) of the total cost of Parkland College Adult Education programming is provided through federal funds under Title I and Title II of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.
