Classes are not required to take High School Equivalency tests (HiSET®, GED ®), but Parkland College Adult Education has test prep classes for those who want help getting ready.  Anyone who passes their high school equivalency tests between now and December 31, 2021, may skip the Constitution Test which the State of Illinois usually requires to earn a high school equivalency.

Parkland College’s GED® test-prep classes help you prepare for college entrance exams, High School Equivalency (HSE) tests, or refresh your skills in:

  • reading
  • writing
  • math
  • technology
  • employment
  • college preparedness

Instruction is provided in either a traditional classroom setting, completely online, or a mix of classroom and online.  The curriculum is designed to assist students in passing the HSE test and successfully transitioning to college credit coursework and/or the workforce.  Students may also enroll in adult education bridge or career pathways programs.

Spring 2021 schedule: January 11 - May 6 (open entry)

All classes are live online and recorded video with 1:1 instructor tutoring. Laptop and tablet loans are available for students who need them for online classes.
