Watch the 2021 Virtual Commencement Ceremony

Parkland College hosted a virtual Commencement on May 13, 2021, at 7:00 p.m.  The 2021 Virtual Commencement ceremony will continue to be broadcast as a YouTube Premier event on the Parkland College YouTube channel. Students will have the opportunity to continue to celebrate with fellow graduates, faculty, staff, family, and friends via social media.  The virtual ceremony included aspects of our traditional commencement, including speakers, awards presentations, and the reading of the graduates’ names.

Cobra Commencement Kits:

Each graduate that participated in the virtual ceremony will receive a Cobra Commencement Kit free of
charge. The kit includes:
• a new green mortarboard (cap),
• a Parkland tassel with new signet,
• padded diploma cover,
• three copies of the commencement program,
• an honors cord, if applicable, and more.

This kits will be available to pick up in Student Life from May 5- May 21.  All kits not picked up during this time will be mailed to the address students listed on their petition to graduate.

Future opportunity:

We encourage all eligible graduates to participate in this year’s Virtual Commencement Ceremony.
Additionally, for those graduates who are also looking for an in-person ceremony, graduates are also
welcome to participate in the May 12, 2022 ceremony at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts.
More details on how to participate in next year’s ceremony will follow at a later date.
