CLERY OVERNIGHT TRAVEL

The Clery Act requires higher education institutions to report some crimes occurring at non-campus properties. Non-campus properties include college-sponsored overnight lodging or spaces “frequently used by students” criteria.

The Parkland Overnight Travel Form is required for any Parkland-related, overnight travel; e.g. athletics, academics, clubs/organizations, business, etc. It is designed to identify who is traveling, how they will travel, and to where they will travel. It will help determine locations in which we are required to request and report crime statistics. The information is gathered to meet the Clery Act reporting regulations.

To comply with the law, this form MUST be completed for ANY Parkland College-sponsored trip or off-campus travel that involves either:

  • Lodging overnight
  • The rental of a room or facility (excluding lodging) for any length of time
