Timothy V. Johnson served as the US Representative for Illinois' 15th congressional district from 2001 to 2013 and as a member of the Illinois House of Representatives from 1976 to 2000. The Champaign native was elected to the Parkland College Board of Trustees in 2015.
Currently serving as an an attorney with the law offices of Frederick W. Nessler & Associates, Ltd., Mr. Johnson was an attorney and senior partner at Johnson, Frank, Frederick and Walsh from 1972 to 2001. He is a former member of the Urbana City Council.
A graduate of Urbana High School, Mr. Johnson attended the US Military Academy at West Point in 1964. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1969, a Bronze Tablet honoree. He graduated cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1972.
In 2013, Mr. Johnson was inducted as a Laureate of The Lincoln Academy of Illinois and awarded the Order of Lincoln, the state’s highest award, by Gov. Patrick Quinn, in the area of Communications.
