SWFT is now a CEJA Workforce Hub!

Parkland College is one of the thirteen designated CEJA Illinois Workforce Hubs offering FREE training, certification preparation, and skill development for entry-level jobs in clean energy-related industries such as solar, wind, energy efficiency, and electric vehicle maintenance.

CEJA Bridge Program

The CEJA Bridge Program is a paid training opportunity that prepares you for entry into Parkland’s Automotive, Weatherization, HVAC, and Solar Installation certification programs. While in the program, the following is covered:

  • Basic safety/OSHA 10
  • First Aid/CPR
  • Clean energy basics
  • Essential employability skills
  • Work-based learning

You will earn:

  • OSHA 10-hour Construction Certification
  • First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Building Science Principles

20 hours per week
6 Weeks, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 12 pm

Parkland Programs Available Through Bridge Completion
  • Automotive Tech. Certification & AAS
  • HVAC Certification + EPA Certification
  • Solar Installation Certification (program will begin Summer 2025)
  • Weatherization Certification (program will begin Spring 2025)

Am I Eligible?

CEJA Illinois is dedicated to reinforcing a diverse workforce by leveraging opportunities for our communities that have faced historical economic barriers and environmental damage.

While all are welcome to apply, prioritization will be given to those who meet the following criteria:

  • Reside in an environmental justice community
  • Reside in an Restore.Reinvest.Renew (R3) community
  • Have a barrier to employment, such as involvement in the criminal legal system, low educational attainment, a language barrier, etc.
  • Are a current or former member of the foster care system
  • Are a displaced energy worker

Determining a participant’s eligibility will be completed in the prescreening process of the CEJA application. You can begin by applying here.
