Traffic Violation?

Parkland College contracts with Champaign, Douglas, and Piatt County. If you received a ticket in one of these counties, you will automatically receive a registration packet.

Submitting your request for the Traffic Safety Program is time sensitive. You must first wait for your Circuit Clerk's office to enter your violation into their system of record which may take a week. After that, pay for the program at the same time as your ticket on or prior to your court appearance date (noted on the bottom half of the front side of the ticket, in the "Court Place/Date" Section). If you do not have a court appearance date on your ticket, contact the Circuit Clerk's office in your ticketing county to determine your deadline.

To request the program, follow the registration instructions included on the registration form. Once you are registered for the program, you have 120 days from the date of your Plea of Guilty to finish a National Safety Council 4-hour defensive driving course.

Not in County?

If you've received a traffic ticket in a county other than Champaign, Douglas, or Piatt, please contact the Circuit Clerk's office in your ticketing county to determine if you are permitted to take the course at Parkland College. If you were under the age of 25 at the time of your ticket, please also verify which course you must participate in: DDC-4 or "Alive at 25." Parkland College does not offer "Alive at 25"

If you received your ticket in a county other than Champaign, Douglas, or Piatt, the non-refundable registration fee for the defensive driving course at Parkland College is $49 for the instructor-led class or $69 for the online version. Advanced registration is required and all fees are due at the time of registration.
