Parkland Theatre to Present "Moon Over Buffalo" in November

The 2025–26 season will also feature "Romeo and Juliet" and "Anastasia"

Parkland College Theatre will present "Moon Over Buffalo" in the Harold and Jean Miner Theatre beginning Thursday, November 6.

A backstage comedy in the madcap tradition of "Noises Off," the show centers on George and Charlotte Hay, fading stars of the 1950s. At the moment, they’re playing "Private Lives" and "Cyrano De Bergeracin Buffalo, N.Y. On the brink of a disastrous split-up caused by George’s dalliance with a young ingénue, they receive word they might just have one last shot at stardom.

Frank Capra, director of "It’s a Wonderful Life," is coming to town to see their matinee. If he likes what he sees, he might cast them in his movie remake of "The Scarlet Pimpernel." Unfortunately for George and Charlotte, everything that could go wrong does, both on and off stage.

Hilarious complications ensue, including visits from their daughter, her clueless fiancé, and Charlotte’s mother, who hates every bone in George’s body. The show makes for a perfect comedy confection for lovers of theatre and old Hollywood.

Mathew Green directs a cast including Matt Hester, Mindy Smith, Jamie McDaniels, Rebecca Strom, Jace Jamison, Erica Such, Owen Skarbalus, and Neil Ryan.

Performances will take place on November 6, 7, 8, 14, 15 at 7:30 p.m. and November 9 and 16 at 3 p.m. The show is rated teen for adult language and content.

Tickets cost $20 for adults and $15 for students, youth, seniors and veterans. Opening night costs $10, half-price of an adult ticket. Tickets are on sale now.

Parkland Theatre wants all guests to have an enjoyable experience. Both theatres are wheelchair accessible and have accommodations for patrons with limited mobility and visual or hearing impairments. For those who anticipate needing any type of accommodation, please indicate when purchasing tickets.

The 2025–26 season will also feature "Romeo and Juliet" and "Anastasia."
