DETAILS:  The 1:30 p.m. webinar focuses on the need to train more people in advanced manufacturing, with a focus on the White House's Advanced Manufacturing Sprint. The program will open with Jobs for the Future (JFF) CEO Maria Flynn in conversation with Neera Tanden of the White House Domestic Policy Council. At 1:45, the panel begins, moderated by Brendan Danaher of the National Economic Council at the White House.
         The panel includes Amanda Ballantyne, director of the AFL-CIO Working for America Institute; Felix Ejeckam, co-founder and CEO of Akash Systems; and Aimee Densmore, program manager for workforce partnerships at Parkland College. They will discuss how employers, unions, and community colleges work together in this space. Aimee will specifically address Parkland's successes with registered apprenticeships as an industry-driven, high-quality career pathway through which district employers are developing their future workforce.
