Enrollment Blitz 2019: Apply, Set Classes, More

Last call for fall! Get one-stop enrollment services Aug. 8–16

Parkland College will help residents sign up for fall semester classes at the campus next month through a one-stop enrollment services event.

Fall Enrollment Blitz 2019 runs from Aug. 8 through Aug. 16, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., on the second-floor bridge of the student union (U building). (NOTE: The campus is closed Aug. 9 to 11.) Since Parkland College's fall semester classes begin Monday, Aug. 19, the event is especially useful for those who have steps yet to complete in their enrollment.

During Enrollment Blitz, new and returning students can receive one-stop help from the college's Student Services offices, including Admissions and Records, Financial Aid and Veteran Services, Assessment Center, and Counseling Services. From completing an admission or financial aid application to registering for classes and a new-student orientation session, Enrollment Blitz has what all students need to prepare for a great new semester.

Parkland Preview to Help Students Explore Career Interests

Event includes free career assessments, breakout sessions, tour

Parkland College is calling all high school seniors! Join us for a special "Parkland Preview" event on Friday, March 8 from noon to 2 pm in the Student Union.

The Parkland Preview allows prospective and admitted students to explore their major with the instructors and staff of Parkland's transfer and career programs. Free career assessments will be offered during the event to help students who are undecided about their major identify their strengths.

Breakout sessions highlighting financial aid, scholarships, and the Parkland experience from a student's perspective will round out the available opportunities. Near the close of the Parkland Preview, students will have the option to take a tour of campus, talk with an admissions advisor, or make further appointments with career counseling.
Students may register for this event at or by calling 217/351-2482.

Parkland Pathway to Illinois Program Open House

Graduating seniors can gain guaranteed admission to certain University of Illinois programs

High school students can learn more about a Parkland College program guaranteeing them admission in selected colleges at the University of Illinois while saving money on tuition.
The Parkland Pathway to Illinois Program Information Open House will be held Sunday, Feb. 10 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Parkland College Student Union. Prospective students and their parents are welcome to attend.
Representatives from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Parkland will answer questions about the Parkland Pathway to Illinois Program, including eligibility, housing options, financial aid, admissions, and other topics.

For qualifying Illinois high school graduates who begin college at Parkland and are interested in transferring to the University of Illinois, the program is an opportunity to gain guaranteed admission to certain University of Illinois programs. While preparing to transfer, participating students will be able to integrate their time as full-time Parkland students with resources and classes at Illinois. Pathway students typically complete the program in two years, but AP credit and college credit earned in high school may affect program length.
