Understanding the crime log
The incidents in this log are included based on the rules in the federal Clery Act. Not every crime listed here was reported directly to the College Police; some may have been shared with college employees known as Campus Security Authorities (CSAs). These CSAs are required by law to report certain crimes to Public Safety so that the College can keep the community informed about safety concerns.
Some victims choose not to involve the police or pursue a criminal investigation. The College still offers support and resources to anyone affected. In some cases, the College may still take disciplinary action against offenders. Additionally, some incidents may also be under investigation by police departments outside the College.
This online version of the daily crime log is updated as often as possible for your convenience. A current, printed copy is always available for public viewing at the front desk of the Parkland College Police Department, located in Room A160 on the main campus.
