Our Mission

Professional Development & Instructional Technology (PDIT) supports the mission of Parkland College by engaging all faculty and staff in lifelong teaching and learning practices.

PDIT supports teaching and learning through the integrated work of faculty and staff development, as well as innovative approaches to instructional design and technology. PDIT works collaboratively with faculty and staff to ensure dynamic programming aimed at enhancing and promoting student success by:

  • providing space and resources for all faculty and staff to collaborate and share ideas in PDIT’s Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL), located in the D114-118 suite
  • resourcing teachers with innovative strategies for using technology to support student success in traditional, hybrid, and online environments
  • supporting students, faculty, and staff through the skillful use of Parkland’s media center, Parkland College Television (PCTV), which includes a green screen recording studio, video production software and resources, including editing and captioning resources to ensure accessibility.
