2025–2026 career exploration workshops

Digital Media Workshop

Friday, November 7, 2025, from 9:00 am – 11:50 am

Seat Capacity: 24 students

Parkland College will host a FREE Digital Media workshop for District 505 high school students. In this workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of digital sculpting and modeling from 3D animation and games. Students will experience hands-on learning with industry standard 3D software taught by an experienced 3D modeling professional. 

This workshop requires active student participation. A safety and photo release is required for each student and must be turned in no later than the morning of the event.

6–8th Grade Health Professions Career Exploration Experience

Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Seat capacity: 40 students

Parkland College Health Professions will host a FREE career exploration experience for 6-8th grade students and their parents. 

Students will experience hands-on health career labs, classrooms, and program equipment during the event. Health Professions faculty and support services staff will be available to answer questions. This event also provides an excellent opportunity for parents considering a career change to explore Parkland's Health Professions programs. 

This workshop requires active student participation. A safety and photo release is required for each student and must be turned in no later than the morning of the event.

Welding & Industrial Technology Workshop

Friday, November 21, 2025, from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

Seat Capacity: 32 students

Parkland College will host a FREE workshop where students will experience hands-on activities in Welding and Industrial Technology. In welding, students will practice MIG and plasma cutting. The Industrial Technology portion will allow students to work on a project from conception to completion using Solidworks and 3-D printing. Both sessions will put emphasis on appropriate safety measures. 

Students are REQUIRED to have close-toed shoes and long pants to participate.

This workshop requires active student participation. A safety and photo release is required for each student and must be turned in no later than the morning of the event.
