Illustration is drawing with a purpose. In graphic design, illustration is often used to communicate ideas that are challenging or impossible to photograph. This is why our curriculum includes illustration classes that allow students to stretch their imagination. With a step-by-step technique, students gain confidence and begin to create original art that they can proudly showcase in their graduating portfolio. Even if they claim that they can't draw.
This gallery features recent illustration projects created by the students in the Graphic Design and Interactive Design programs at Parkland College. You'll see holiday cards, editorial art, book covers, packaging, posters, infographics and other promotional projects that feature original illustrations. Enjoy!
