Dennis Huffman serves as the Welding Program Director and welding Instructor at Parkland Community College in Champaign, Illinois, a role he has held since August 2022. His position involves both academic administration—managing the program's operations and budget—and hands-on instruction in processes including SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW across all positions for various materials, including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and titanium. He is responsible for student recruiting, enrollment, and administering comprehensive welder testing in accordance with American Welding Society (AWS) standards. An experienced professional, he is also the Founder of Huffman Industrial Design, LLC, specializing as a designer, fabricator, and welder for custom steel solutions in the automotive and agricultural industries. He is certified in AWS D1.1 in multiple positions (1G, 2G, 3G, 1F, 2F) and is a Certified Welding Inspector (AWS).

Mr. Huffman's expertise is further underpinned by an extensive background that includes business management and a distinguished military career. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Illinois and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology (Summa Cum Laude) from Illinois State University. He retired as a Brigade Training Officer from the Illinois Army National Guard, where he was also a UH-60 Blackhawk Instructor Pilot. His military service included deployments to Iraq (Operation Iraqi Freedom II) and Kosovo, accumulating over 1,451 total flight hours, including 221.3 combat flight hours  He is a recipient of the Bronze Star and the Air Medal.
