Parkland College Choir, Jazz Combo Continue Fall Concert Season
The ensembles will perform a variety of selections
Parkland College Music Ensembles will continue their fall concert season with performances by the Choir and Jazz Combo.
On Friday, November 21 at 7 p.m., the Parkland Choir will perform a variety of selections at the Second Stage Theatre. These include "Hang There, My Verse" from "Honor," "Paper Airplanes" from "A Jazzman’s Blues," "Reflection" from "Mulan," and "Starman," music and lyrics by David Bowie. Dr. Cheryl Forest Morganson will direct the performance.
Parkland’s Jazz Combo will perform on Monday, November 24 at 7 p.m., at the Second Stage Theatre. Prof. Kevin Hart will direct the performance.
Their selections include "All of Me" by Gerald Marks and Seymour Simons, "Blue Bossa" by Kenny Dorham, "Chitlins Con Carne" by Kenny Burrell, "Misty" by Erroll Garner and Johnny Burke, "Night and Day" by Cole Porter, "Obsesión" by Pedro Flores, "Recorda Me" by Joe Henderson, "Satin Doll" by Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, and Johnny Mercer, "Tenor Madness" by Sonny Rollins, and "There Will Never Be Another You" by Harry Warren and Mack Gordon.
