"50 years is a significant milestone that celebrates the strength and endurance of an academic program," Program Director Tammy Cox said. "We have impacted Central Illinois for 50 years by connecting students to life-changing, real-world career pathways through academic success. These career pathways provide stability for families in the community. The significance of helping students bridge personal and professional networks that launch lifelong careers in allied health such as radiology is exhilarating."
Parkland's two-year Radiologic Technology program prepares students to take diagnostic images using the latest in X-ray and digital technology at area medical facilities. Students receive one-on one training in preparation for the national RT certification exam.
"Parkland's Radiologic Technology program has a major impact on Parkland as an institution," Cox said. "The program's mission is focused on preparing students for entry level radiographer positions in the community. Radiographers are in high demand nationwide. Our two-year degree allows graduates to practice diagnostic imaging anywhere in the United States upon certification post-graduation. Our program has a 100% student retention rate and 100% of our students find jobs locally or continue their advanced educational journey."
