Parkland College to Host Automotive, Electrical Power, HVAC Workshops

 Champaign, Ill. --- Parkland College Career and Technical Education will host FREE career-interest workshops from area high school students featuring its Automotive Technology, Electrical Power, and Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning programs.

WHAT:    Free CTE Workshops for HS Students 
WHO:      High School Students, Parkland College CTE instructors
WHERE:  Parkhill Applied Technology Center and Parkland's Main Campus, 2400 W. Bradley Ave., Champaign
WHEN:   Friday, September 22, 2023, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

DETAILS: Students will experience hands-on learning opportunities, including:

  • performing engine diagnostics and learning the proper tool usage. Students will experience automotive's chassis dyno in action!
  • constructing, testing, and troubleshooting general lighting circuits in Parkland's Residential Wiring Lab. 
  • learning HVAC maintenance and fabrication in Parkland's HVAC Lab. 

Both workshops require active student participation. A safety release is required for each student which can be brought the day of the workshop. Workshops will include lunch.

Seating is limited. Students can sign up for the Automotive workshop at parkland.edu/autows and for Electrical Power/HVAC workshop at parkland.edu/electricalws.
