Film Screening of "An Inconvenient Truth" Sequel Oct. 10

Free event part of LEED Silver Celebration of Student Union

As part of the LEED Silver Celebration of its Student Union, Parkland College will host a free showing of the film "An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power" featuring former Vice President Al Gore Oct. 10 at noon in the Student Union lounge.

The Office of Student Life, the Parkland College Library, and the Sustainable Campus Student Club are cosponsoring this event, which is open to the public and includes free popcorn.

A decade after "An Inconvenient Truth" brought the climate crisis into the heart of popular culture, this riveting and rousing followup shows just how close we are to a real energy revolution. Gore continues his tireless fight, traveling around the world training an army of climate champions and influencing international climate policy. Cameras follow him behind the scenes, in moments both private and public, funny and poignant, as he pursues the inspirational idea that while the stakes have never been higher, the perils of climate change can be overcome with human ingenuity and passion.

The film is presented by Paramount Pictures and Participant Media, produced by Actual Films and directed by Bonni Cohen and Jon Shenk.
