Parkland College is committed to volunteerism and community involvement! Students and employees take part in a variety of campus organizations, service-learning opportunities, and volunteer events that foster and strengthen the bond between campus and community.

Everyone benefits from the experience! Through academic service learning, students apply their newly acquired skills and critical thinking toward a common good, helping them become more aware of personal and civic responsibility. Meanwhile, the community takes advantage of youthful enthusiasm and the college-level problem-solving skills that service learning applies to tackle community needs and challenges.

We encourage students, faculty/staff, and community partners to learn more about service-learning opportunities at your community college. You are also welcome to design service-learning activities for our students, and to inform us of community needs that could be addressed by partnership with Parkland.

Please contact the Service Learning Coordinator at 217/351-2534 or email bnudelman@parkland.edu for more information.
