The "Homework Club" to Commence its Second Year at Garden Hills Elementary!
Because of the success with last years' program, we are happy to announce that the "Homework Club" will begin its second consecutive year this fall! Parkland students and faculty did a great job last year with the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders at Garden Hills Elementary, and this year we hope to have just as good of a year. Our main goal thus far is to expand our horizons and to grasp more volunteers, and right now we are well on our way of doing so. Similar to last year, the Club will meet at Garden Hills Elementary two days a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays), from 3:00-4:15. Parkland students may volunteer one or both days a week and are expected to actively serve as academic support and as role-models for these young children.
Orientation for the "Homework Club" will be from 3:00-4:00 on Tuesday, September 16 in the library at Garden Hills Elementary. For more information on volunteering or about potentially connecting your class or club with the Garden Hills/Parkland College "Homework Club", please contact Brian Nudelman @ 351-2534 or Marsha Reardon @ 353-3302.
