What you’ll do:
Prepare for a career as a personal trainer. Course work includes preparation for the National Strength & Conditioning Association certification exam and training by certified professionals. In your last semester, work with clients to develop individualized fitness plans, instruct them on technique, and monitor their progress. Train to use state-of-the-art equipment including the Polar TriFit to assess fitness levels. Earn a certificate in just one year of full-time study. Become certified in automated external defibrillators (AED) and CPR.

Where you’ll go:
Opportunities exist for full- or part-time employment, with flexible hours through a fitness center or as an independent consultant. Most program courses and electives will transfer to a four-year college or university so that you may pursue an advanced degree in kinesiology.
