Massage Therapy Certificate

What you’ll do:
Prepare, with full- or part-time study, to take the national certification examination administered by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB). You'll learn in labs, classrooms, and in a variety of off-campus settings. After passing that exam, you will be eligible to apply for a state license as a Massage Therapist. Our program is accredited by both the NCBTMB and the American Massage Therapy Association. Our graduates are automatically eligible to join AMTA as professional members.

Where you’ll go:
Massage therapists work in medical settings, nursing homes, rehab centers, and fitness facilities, providing an important component of health and wellness. You may also work with sports medicine or pain management, as well as out of your home, in clients' homes or in a growing number of bodywork centers. This speciality nicely supplements both chiropractic and physical therapies.

Health career programs at Parkland College are selective. See if you are ready to apply by completing the Ready to Apply? checklist. For more information contact Rita Myles at 217/353-2681 or review the Selective Admissions information.
