The mission of Grants and Contracts (G&C) is to help college personnel obtain funding for projects that will benefit the Parkland College community.

Parkland College

G&C helps college faculty, staff, and administrators obtain funding for projects that will benefit the students of Parkland College and the residents of District 505. We function to research and identify external funding sources; facilitate the development of ideas into competitive proposals; submit and track grant proposals; and work to align grant proposals with Parkland’s missions and goals.

G&C works to not only help Parkland College obtain grant funding, but also to help community organizations by partnering on grant-funded projects. Often, the most successful projects involve collaboration between organizations, businesses, and other entities; by pooling resources, expertise, and effort, collaborative grant projects can result in fundamental positive change that is sustainable and lasting. G&C seeks to increase our collaboration with organizations and businesses in District 505 in an effort to improve and strengthen our community.

G&C partners and collaborates with other community colleges and universities for grant proposals. Consortium proposals require a great deal of communication and information sharing in order to align each college’s goal with the overall goal of the grant, and to ensure a competitive application. Consortium applications are typically for federal grants, and applying as a consortium often increases the likelihood of funding.

For a more detailed overview of G&C processes, our Grants Handbook can be found here.
