Mr. Trimble has been a member of the Parkland Board of Trustees since 1999 and currently is the secretary of the Board. Dana works for Cargill as a marketing advisor to area farmers.
Dana graduated from the University of Illinois with a BS in Animal Science and Agricultural Economics in 1972, and received his Masters in 1974 in Animal Science.
Assisted by various courses at Parkland College, Mr. Trimble has enjoyed diverse careers starting with farming, seed corn production, hazardous waste, banking and now back to agriculture.
Married to his wife, Binnie, they have three children—Carrie, an assistant professor at Drury University; Joshua, a Major in the U.S. Army Signal Corps; and Sarah, a former high school French teacher at Charleston High School who is married to a U.S. Army Major in Military Intelligence. All three children are Parkland College for Kids graduates and received their undergraduate degrees from the University of Illinois.
Dana served 14 years on the Newman Community School District School Board, and was president for 8 years. He is a member of the Lions Club and is a lay speaker at the Newman United Methodist Church.
Dana is also a member of the Gene Trimble Orchestra and the famous “Clown Band.” His hobbies include family, music and travel.
