Greg was elected Parkland Trustee in April, 2011. He is a graduate of Parkland College with an AAS in Agri-Marketing, Illinois State University with a BS in Agri-Business and the University of Illinois at Springfield with an MBA.
Greg was elected 4 times and served on the Champaign County Board from 2000-2011. He was the Minority Leader for 7 years and worked to help lead several major initiatives including the reduction in the size of the board, first in the nation County Redistricting Commission and the building of the Champaign County Nursing Hme.
Greg is very active in scouting, serving as Cub Master for Pack 40, Committee Chair for Venturing Crew 40 and as Girl Scout Leader of Troop 2368. Greg was on the national media staff for 2010 National Scout Jamboree and completed the Wood Badge course in 2010, the highest level of training for adult leaders in scouting. Greg earned his Eagle Scout in 1981 with Troop 40 in St. Joseph.
Greg is married to Brooke and they have two children, Riley, who attends St. Joseph Middle School, and Hayden, who attends St. Joseph Grade School. Riley and Hayden are the 8th generation of their family to live in Champaign County.
Greg currently works at the University of Illinois in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition as Assistant to the Head and as Interim Associate Director of the Center for Advanced BioEnergy Research, both in the College of ACES. Additionally, he actively involved in the agricultural community as an active Farm Bureau member and operator of a small farm.
