Greg was elected as a Parkland trustee in April 2011. A Parkland College alum with an AAS in Agri-Marketing, he also has a BS in Agri-Business from Illinois State University and an MBA from the University of Illinois Springfield.
Greg was elected four times and served on the Champaign County Board from 2000 to 2011. He was the Minority Leader for seven years and helped lead several major initiatives, including the reduction in the size of the board, creation of the first-in-the-nation County Redistricting Commission, and the building of the Champaign County Nursing Home.
Greg is active in scouting, serving as cub master for Pack 40, committee chair for Venturing Crew 40, and as leader for Girl Scout Troop 2368. He was on the national media staff for 2010 National Scout Jamboree and completed the Wood Badge course in 2010, the highest level of training for adult leaders in scouting. Greg earned his Eagle Scout in 1981 with Troop 40 in St. Joseph.
Greg is married to Brooke and they have two children, Riley and Hayden. Riley and Hayden are the eighth generation of their family to live in Champaign County.
Greg currently works at the University of Illinois in the College of ACES: as assistant to the head in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition and as interim associate director for the Center for Advanced BioEnergy Research. Additionally, he is actively involved in the agricultural community as a Farm Bureau member and operator of a small farm.
