David has been an automotive instructor since 2012, teaching at Urbana High School and Parkland. David joined the Ford ASSET program in 2021 and is currently the program director and an instructor. He has worked in the automotive industry as a technician since 2000 after completing his technician training at Madison Area Technical College in Madison, WI. While attending MATC, David began his first automotive job working for Sears. He quickly transitioned into a full time technician position at Saturn of Madison where he spent the next seven years. Over the next ten years, David worked for two General Motors dealerships concluding with Sullivan-Parkhill in Champaign.

David taught automotive technology at Urbana High School while teaching part-time in Parkland’s Early College and Career Academy (ECCA) Automotive program before becoming full-time with the Ford ASSET program. He has been heavily involved with Parkland’s Hot Rodders of Tomorrow (HROT) engine competition team, which has been recognized at the national level.

David finds great enjoyment in helping learners find and develop a passion for the automotive industry. He is excited to develop his role at Parkland and continue growing as an educator.
