By Qui Nguyen

Revised 2016 edition. She Kills Monsters tells the story of Agnes Evans as she leaves her childhood home in Ohio following the death of her teenage sister, Tilly. When Agnes finds Tilly’s Dungeons and Dragons notebook, however, she finds herself catapulted into a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure in the imaginary world that was her sister’s refuge. In this high-octane dramatic comedy laden with homicidal fairies, nasty ogres, and ‘90s pop culture, acclaimed playwright Qui Nguyen offers a heart-pounding homage to the geek and warrior within us all.

10 out of 12
By Anne Washburn
Directed by BJ Gailey

Anne Washburn's 10 out of 12 is a frighteningly accurate and deeply funny record of the hardest day any theatre artist can endure- the all-day technical rehearsal, also known as the "10 out of 12." Distilled from years of production notes, the play focuses on a hopelessly-behind-schedule production during one of its last rehearsals before opening to the public. The tech crew is distracted, the actors are fighting (when they aren't missing their cues), and the director and stage manager are just trying to get through the night without anyone dying or killing anyone. 10 out of 12 shows in hilarious and horrifying detail how theatre can inspire, frustrate, and madden its makers.
