H1N1 Flu Information

With the recent outbreak of swine flu, Parkland College is providing the following resources for staff and students to keep them informed of updates and ways to protect themselves.

There are two types of vaccine: the nasal spray and an injectable form. Both have excellent safety records and are our best form of protection against influenza. Although Novel H1N1 illness causes only mild to moderate illness in most young people, it can be a very serious illness for some. It has the potential for causing significant disruption on campus so until a significant portion of the student population has been vaccinated, it is likely to carry a significant threat for some time to come.

Please stay alert for more information as it becomes available. Announcements will be sent out via email.
