Parkland Trotters

Join the Parkland Trotters and walk for the health of it! By keeping record of miles walked around campus, Parkland College faculty, staff and students can earn recognition through the Wellness Center (L122), in addition to Parkland Trotters merchandise. More importantly, we can join in the quest for a healthy, stress-free lifestyle. Interested persons can sign up in the Wellness Center, L122.

How to Get Involved: Record your miles each week, and report each 10-mile “milestone” to the Wellness Center (e-mail June Burch at jburch@parkland.edu) for documentation and special recognition. Those who reach 200 miles will receive a Parkland Trotters t-shirt.

Suggestions: Take your 15-minute breaks to walk • Walk with a partner • Change into comfortable shoes • Drink water before and after walking • Avoid walking at 5- or 10-minutes before the hour (due to hallway congestion) • Don’t tease others if their tennis shoes do not match their professional attire! ;-)
